Food additive that mostly affect women

A new study on a male hormonal contraceptive injection sparked a discussion this week that drew focus to the kinds of side effects women experience from their birth control methods. The male study participants suffered mood changes, acne, and suppressed fertility post-trial. These side effects were viewed by the researchers, and experts, as reason enough to halt the study completely. However, testosterone boosters are a burgeoning segment of the sports nutrition industry and more and more men are benefiting from them.

Legions of men are turning to these supplements in an effort to increase energy, increase stamina and muscle building in the gym and increase virility in bed. Additionally, testosterone deficiency could result in a number of distressing symptoms like loss of lean muscle mass, loss of stamina, anxiety, reduced libido, cognitive decline and depression. These symptoms are collectively referred to as andropause, which is the male equivalent of menopause that females experience.

What are statin side effects?

One of the most common complaints of people taking statins is muscle pain. You may feel this pain as a soreness, tiredness or weakness in your muscles. The pain can be a mild discomfort, or it can be severe enough to make your daily activities difficult. Oddly enough, most randomized controlled studies of statins indicate that people taking statins develop muscle pain at the same rate as people taking placebo. But up to 29 per cent of the people who start taking statins report muscle pain and many discontinue statins because of it. Many of these people do well when they are switched to a different variety of statin.

Increased blood sugar or type 2 diabetes

It’s possible your blood sugar (blood glucose) level may increase when you take a statin, which may lead to developing type  diabetes. The risk is small but important enough that the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has issued a warning on statin labels regarding blood glucose levels and diabetes. Statins prevent heart attacks in patients with diabetes, so the relevance of the mild increase in sugar values with statins observed in some patients is unclear. The benefit of taking statins likely outweighs the small risk to have the blood sugar level go up. Talk to your doctor if you have concerns.

Menstrual Abnormalities and Infertility

Since steroids replicate testosterone, steroid use may trigger hormonal shifts. As a result, women may experience menstrual abnormalities may occur. Women may experience fewer periods, lighter or heavier menstrual flow, erratic periods or unusual premenstrual symptoms.

Women who have undergone post-abortion counselling report over 100 major reactions to abortion. Among the most frequently reported are: depression, loss of self-esteem, self-destructive behaviour, sleep disorders, memory loss, sexual dysfunction, chronic problems with relationships, dramatic personality changes, anxiety attacks, guilt and remorse, difficulty grieving, increased tendency toward violence, chronic crying, difficulty concentrating, flashbacks, loss of interest in previously enjoyed activities and people, and difficulty bonding with later children. These are just some side effects that females experience from using birth control methods.
